I regularly buy discount gift cards through an assortment of websites that are on the up and up. I recently took a risk on an eBay one that I fully expected to be a scam (heavily discounted from a new/limited but all positive feedback account). F igured with the security of paypal and a burner eBay account - what’s the worst that happens.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Turns out it is NOT a scam! Which makes for a pretty nice discount on something I’m paying for no matter what. He actually reached out and said the $100 codes were gone, but here is a $50 and $60 code to make up for it.
Maybe he’s selling my email address to people? Idk, idc - it’s a burner email connected to the account.
Thought the deal was worth passing along to oppo for interest

Even if he is selling email add resses I couldn’t see that being worth the $15 difference. Unless maybe it’s like Shakira’s email address.

I’ve bought those a couple times. Worked out fine. Not a huge saving, but hey $10 is $10

I’m cheap af. 30% off $100 is pretty good imo, plus I ended up with $110 in the end! I am happy with that for sure.

Yes, I wouldn’t think it would make up the difference unless it was sold excessively - but again it would take a lot. Not sure where it’s factoring in for him, but Netflix took both codes so I am a happy camper.

Yeah, that’s an awesome deal! I may just get one. I’ve never had Netflix, but this may just do it.
Any other screaming deals you know for gift cards on ebay?

Yeah a lot of the discounted online gift cards are shady as fuck.
Either from carding (stolen credit card), laundering dirty darknet drug money or money laundering in general or hacked codes/accounts.
GLWT.

If we want to get technical, the $30 card for $19.99 is actually a better deal percentage wise. Scaled to comparable dollar amounts, you’d save an extra $10 buying 10 $30 ones over 3 $100 cards (this is what I do with things, my wife gets frustrated with me over it at times).

Ah gotcha and it’s not like Netflix is super expensive so buying a few $30 ones lasts quite a while.

He probably bought them with a stolen credit card number, so it’s 100% profit.
